Miko Group acknowledges the importance of protecting the environment and the care and commitment it takes to ensure the health and livelihood of our future.

THiNK GREEN is a simple program designed to encourage environmental awareness and responsibility within Miko Group, Inc. The benefits of becoming a "GREEN" business are to develop positive changes in customer loyalty, in employee satisfaction, and in community relationships.

Toyota Prius Conversion

On September 16, 2008, our company’s Toyota Prius dramatically increased its fuel efficiency from 60mpg to 120+mpg! Miko Group has also signed with Hymotion as part of our Think Green initiative. What We're Doing At the Office

  • Quarterly employee giveaways which promote a green lifestyle at the office and home (i.e. reusable bags, compact fluorescent light bulbs, etc.)
  • Employment of Absolute Data Shredding - a “security partner for onsite document and non-document destruction services”, who transports destroyed and wrapped materials to a paper mill where they are recycled into various paper products
  • Require all internal printing and email communication be done with EcoFont - a font proven to reduce ink use by 20%.
  • Employment of GreenPrint - a computer program which “eliminates wasteful pages in any printout automatically”
  • Transition from disposable to reusable dinnerware and flatware in the employee break room
  • Employment of MyBoneYard.com - a company which provides “smart, responsible, and eco-friendly” recycling services for electronic devices
  • Planting new trees, flowers, and grass and mulching to beautify company grounds and control erosion
  • Allowing all full-time employees the opportunity to enroll in the Alternative Work Schedule
  • Have employees carpool, use public transportation and give incentives for low energy use vehicles
  • Purchase office and janitorial supplies that have post-consumer content
  • Turn off computer monitors and speakers when not in use
  • Cut down on travel by holding video conferencing
  • Utilize current and encourage additional community recycling efforts

What We're Doing At Home

  • Use energy-efficient lighting (bulbs)
  • Use indoor/outdoor lighting timers
  • Turn off power switches/sources (surge protectors and light duty power strips) when not in use
  • Keep automotive tires inflated to recommended pressure
  • Use washable filters for heating and air units
  • Use earth-friendly landscaping products
  • Use reusable shopping bags
  • Leave heating and air units to a consistent, comfortable room setting
  • Use cold water when doing laundry and hang dry clothes
  • Recycle!
