Audio-Visual Specialist Tony Robertson leads the 2011 WIC Conference(Monday-Tuesday, April 18-19, 2011)

Miko Group proudly continues to partner with the Center for Public Management (CPM) at the University of Oklahoma to support the Oklahoma State Department of Health in presenting The 2011 Annual Oklahoma Nutrition/WIC Conference.  Since 2007, Tony Robertson of Miko Group has served as the audio visual lead and manager of all technology requirements.

This two day event held in April 2011 at the Embassy Suites and Conference Center in Norman, Oklahoma welcomes approximately 475 nutrition experts and educators from all over the State of Oklahoma.  The stellar line up of speakers includes author, TV host and national nutrition speaker, Zonya Foco, as well as Hitesh Bakshi, Senior Regional Nutritionist, US Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service, Southwest Region.

The collaboration between Miko and CPM affords Tony Robertson a unique opportunity to appreciate the services of the Oklahoma State Department of Health.  Robertson feels honored to be affiliated with such a wonderful program over the years.   He finds the amount of outreach that is provided over the State of Oklahoma to be inspirational.  Most notably, he has discovered that the many people involved in the daily operations of the WIC program have a true passion for its success. His involvement with this event through the years has cultivated a passion in him as well for the WIC program as he states, “It is my hope that WIC continues to grow in the future and expands its service to our communities.”

The Margo O'Mealey Memorial Scholarship Recipient: Lacey Painter(Friday, April 8, 2011)

Margo O'Mealey Memorial Scholarship Recipient: Lacey Painter

Miko Group is pleased to announce Lacey Painter as the inaugural recipient of the Margo O'Mealey Memorial Scholarship! Lacey is a senior at Bixby High School with an impressive 4.40 GPA. She plans to attend Oklahoma State University during the fall semester with the intent of majoring in Physiology.

The Margo O'Mealey Scholarship originated this year in honor of Margo O'Mealey. Margo was an independent person who embodied the highest level of strength and values. She was gifted with enormous skill, versatility and heart. Her life was tragically taken at the young age of 23. Beloved and remembered by many, she wanted to continue her collegiate career as it was a goal she had in her sights. Miko Group was aware of Margo's intentions, and to her honor, a scholarship on behalf of Margo was established. "This was what she would have wanted" would be echoed by those who knew her best. The scholarship award recipient should represent Margo's personal gifts - passion, sincerity and service.

The Margo O'Mealey Memorial Scholarship was presented at Bixby High School. Representing Miko Group at the award ceremony were Miko Group President Mark Morton, Jill Hatcher, and Jonathan Workman.

Our Margo: In Loving Memory(Thursday, January 27, 2011)

We miss and love you, Margo.

The consummate professional. The daily sunshine. The confidence. The heart. The one and only Margo.

We lost a very special person today. Margo O'Mealey started her career at Miko Group in September of 2009 as an Administrative Assistant. Our first impression - she was a sponge for knowledge and information. Margo was a team player who had style and class. She was absolute quality.

Within four rapid months, she exemplified the commitment and all the necessary tools in becoming a Project Specialist. From then, Margo would gain experience working with numerous projects in variable types and settings. Her flawless reputation with our clients remained true to her character as she continued to excel in fulfilling every project.

Our life of the party. Our free-spirited soul. Our entertainer. Our energizer. Our gem. Our Margo.

There are so many words and thoughts we can share of our beloved Margo. It seemed as though the scrapbook on how to live life was authored by Margo herself. She influenced so many lives - her symbolism of love and friendship are things we all embrace. Your Miko Group family misses you dearly.
