About the 2009 Reading Institute
This conference provides a chance to once again learn from individuals with expertise in scientifically based reading research and hear from nationally recognized reading specialists. You will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions led by recognized experts on subjects such as comprehension, vocabulary, leadership, and sustainability. We will continue to emphasize the importance of data in monitoring and achieving positive outcomes in student reading.
Districts and schools are encouraged to have teams (e.g. an administrator, coach, and teacher from the same school) attend the conference together. Each individual will be able to attend sessions focused on their role in improving literacy skills. At the end of each day, teams will be able to work together in facilitated discussions to plan for maintaining and expanding rigorous reading programs.
